This grant will provide funding for a 60-minute workshop to be presented at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Virtual Media Institute on Health and Education on April 24, 2021, and a 90-minute workshop for the NABJ Virtual Convention and Career Fair, August 18-21, 2021. The Fund will work closely with NABJ Director of Development JoAnne Wooten to determine the workshop topics, content, panelists and moderators. It is critical that journalists are informed on key health policy issues that disproportionally impact communities of color, with a focus on where the U.S. is currently, where the U.S. needs to go, and how specific health policies might help achieve those goals.
