This project will create an Impact Fund for Reporting on Health Equity and Health Systems, focusing on the health implications of systemic discrimination. Five to eight reporter grantees would be selected and trained to adopt the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism's Center for Health Journalism's "impact reporting model," which helps to produce stories that combine powerful narratives, unassailable data, and engagement. The five components of the initiative include: training, mentoring, peer-to-peer learning, reporting grants, and impact fund projects.
