The research team will conduct 12 online, video focus groups with Black and Latinx adults age 65 and older to identify their unique needs and experiences within the health care system, as well as ideas for how to improve care. Focus groups will be further stratified by income and high-need, high-cost status and will include individuals that represent a mix of gender and geography. The main questions will center on how participants’ experiences with the health care system have affected their care, along with evaluating views on home-based care, behavioral health care, and assistance with nonmedical needs. Questions will be developed in conjunction with Fund staff. Focus groups will be recorded and transcribed for further analysis; sessions recorded in Spanish will be translated.
