As many as a million Americans suffer from Parkinson’s disease, and the number of cases may double by 2040. A new case study profiles a Dutch program that holds promise for improving patients’ quality of life, as well as lowering treatment costs. As reported by the Urban Institute’s Bradford Gray, The Commonwealth Fund’s Dana O. Sarnak, and Commonwealth Fund Harkness Fellow Marit Tanke, ParkinsonNet features multidisciplinary networks of allied health professionals, all using evidence-based practice guidelines, and a web-based platform that allows patients to provide feedback about their care.
