The event will examine: </p>

<p>The first session will focus on long-term care financing reform and offer lessons from the United States, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom, covering such topics as experimentation with tax credits and private long-term care insurance. The afternoon session will address the delivery challenges at the intersection of long-term care and end-of-life care, including the "silos" of acute, chronic, and palliative care. The presenters will also discuss the philosophies that tend to drive the actions of professional, paraprofessional, institutional, and non-institutional providers. <strong>Pioneer Network Webinar Series</strong> <br />The Pioneer Network, a Commonwealth Fund–supported organization dedicated to long-term care (LTC) culture change, is hosting a new webinar series for LTC providers called "Creating Home: The New Quality of Life Revisions to LTC Surveyor Guidance." Presenters include Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Division of Nursing Home Deputy Director Karen Schoeneman, M.P.A., who developed the new guidelines and now oversees their enforcement. She will be joined by Debra Swinton-Spears, M.S., a nurse consultant with the CMS Division of Nursing Homes. The series will include two 90-minute sessions and will be offered twice, June 10 and 17, and June 11 and 18. The series was created in partnership with the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and the American Health Care Association.
