‘Writing the Future’ is a writing competition run by Kaleidoscope Health & Care for science‐fiction short stories
about health and health care in 2100. The aim of the competition is to use science fiction to generate thinking and
debate as to what the future of health and care could look like and how systems can best start preparing now. The
competition is open to any and all writers, and stories will be judged based on insight, imagination, and
entertainment/ being a ”good read”. The winning entry will receive a prize of £10,000, the largest prize of its type.
The competition will be launched on May 5, 2017 and the winner will be announced in October 2017.
