Health Affairs (HA) proposes to host a half-day conference examining the future of value-based payment. The event will build upon the conversation that occurred at a previous event in May 2016 (where David Blumenthal was the keynote speaker). Attendees will include government officials, health sector and association leaders, the research and policy community, and others. HA will raise awareness and promote discussion on the role of payment policy in health delivery reforms. The convening is expected and intended to stimulate discussion among varied stakeholders and may result in a series of blog posts discussing the future of value-based payment. This project will set the stage for ongoing bipartisan dialogue about how best to achieve shared goals, even as bitter fights are likely to occur in other areas of health policy.
The HA blog receives 90,000 monthly visitors, is followed by major news outlets, and is frequently cited by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and others.
