The goal of this project is to identify opportunities to better integrate medications into existing or new value-based payment (VBP) models with actionable use cases that demonstrate how to overcome existing policy barriers and technical challenges. They will perform a literature review, conduct expert interviews, perform internal analyses, and convene an expert panel in order to: collect examples of existing or emerging VBP models that can be scaled more broadly or otherwise adapted to include medications; identify regulatory, legal, and implementation challenges that may limit VBP models to incorporate medications; and provide policy options.
