The project team will develop and spread the content currently under development in the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality grant by establishing a learning community with eight to 15 health systems to implement the interventions, measure their impacts, and harvest lessons. The team will pilot, validate, and refine a theory of change, set of interventions, and measurement strategy that health systems can use to reduce their carbon emissions. An advisory committee comprising leaders in sustainability, clinical practice, and health care will provide guidance to the project. If successful, this work would inform a future phase to scale these efforts to 60 to 90 health systems.
