The Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) recently launched the Medicaid Innovation Accelerator Program (IAP), which aims to broadly support states’ Medicaid payment and delivery system reform efforts by serving as a vehicle to provide more coordinated communication and technical assistance on cross-cutting issues. The Fund is looking to empanel a set of experts to review the literature and provide recommendations to CMCS as they develop technical assistance contracts to ensure the work of IAP is grounded in evidence-based research. The Fund will support the expert panel in order to ensure that the priorities that emerge are applicable, relevant, and driven by those with insights into state policy. In phase one of this project, the expert panel focused on high-need, high-cost patients. Following the success of phase one, phase two will focus on primary care and behavioral health integration.
