The goal of the project is to advance quality, equity, and affordability of health care by informing the next generation of payment and delivery system reforms at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Leadership Consortium will form a steering committee of experts in value-based payment, equity, primary care, and more to identify top priorities for CMMI action. NAM will then hold two webinars/virtual roundtables to deep dive on key topics (e.g. incorporating equity in value-based payment models, strengthening CMMI’s primary care initiatives) and synthesize the deliberations into publicly available summaries on NAM’s website. NAM will partner with Commonwealth Fund staff and grantees to develop two to three policy memos based on the convenings for CMMI leadership.
