This project will collate state maternal health policies into a single database and accompanying map, thereby enabling a wide range of stakeholders to dive deeply into individual state approaches and easily compare approaches across all or a subset of states. To develop the database, the Center for Health Care Strategies will begin by identifying maternal health equity policy levers. Within these levers they will develop a detailed list of policies (e.g., doulas, home-visiting programs, maternal pay for performance, etc.) that states are using or could use to advance maternal health equity. They will then collect the data on what states are doing and populate the database and map. They also will write a policy brief to accompany the database that will present an analysis of the key findings.
