The two-day meeting will use DSR’s patient personas to create scenarios describing how patients ideally want to maintain health, wellness, interact with care delivery, and participate in research. These personas and scenarios will be the basis for the development of consensus action-items and policy recommendations through keynotes, panels, breakouts, and other working sessions. These recommendations for patient and family empowerment will be presented to Congress and the public during a November 9, 2017 event on Capitol Hill. In addition to AMIA membership, a select group of patient advocates will be sponsored to participate in the event.
