Ideas42 proposes a four-month study to explore how to operationalize BDTs in health care provider organizations. The project will use a brief literature review, expert interviews and site visits to selected delivery organizations to answer the following questions:
• What lesson from government behavioral design teams extend to a clinical context without major adaptations?
• What are similarities and differences between the ideas42 BDT process and current innovative approaches in health care?
• What characteristics at providers represent the best conditions to start a behavioral design team?
• How would a Behavioral Design Team build in organizational change, institutionalization, and capacity building?
• How should CEOs assess the benefits and costs of implementing a behavioral design team
• Who are the best partners to pilot test BDT implementation?
The goal of the project is to inform delivery system leaders about the opportunity for behavioral design teams to apply their expertise within organizations to improve the quality of care and reduce costs and to identify management and staffing models for pilot testing.
