The project will include three workstreams. One focused on sustainability will enable the National Association of Medicaid Directors (NAMD) to strengthen its CFO Affinity Group by convening a summit and sharing best practices through a toolkit on budgeting, pharmacy checklists, long-term services and supports, and CFO leadership. The second workstream on federal-state partnerships will help the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and states better understand each other’s perspectives, needs, and constraints to inform decision-making and ultimately improve health outcomes for Medicaid beneficiaries. In a third workstream on leadership, NAMD staff will offer executive coaching to Medicaid directors in seven to 10 states and help them develop strategic plans and operational programming. NAMD will also offer orientations to newly appointed Medicaid directors.
