The project will develop and deliver a Medicare Academy curriculum for state Medicaid agencies focused on integrating Medicare and Medicaid, piloting two different models — a longer, multistate cohort and a shorter, more intensive single-state approach — for supporting states in developing and sustaining essential Medicare program and policy expertise among key state Medicaid agency personnel. The project also will create an online home for select training curriculum resources as well as existing and future Medicare–Medicaid integration resources created with foundation support. The curriculum and training would be: 1) focused on the practical and applied Medicare knowledge most needed by states; 2) offered in accessible and easy-to-digest formats; and 3) developed with the input of state staff experienced in Medicare–Medicaid integration.
