The United Hospital Fund (UHF) will draft a case study of its multiyear engagement with the New York Medicaid program and broader New York health care community to design a pediatric-specific alternative payment model. The publication will outline why it is significant that New York’s Medicaid program initiated a process to explore the fit of its value-based payment models to children and adolescents in Medicaid; the process that was pursued in partnership with stakeholders; key design and implementation issues that emerged in the process; the recommended course of action proposed by stakeholders to the Medicaid program; results to date; and lessons learned for other states.
