Building on their work in North Carolina, Manatt will work with its expert, as well as Rebecca Onie and Rocco Perla of The Health Initiative (THI), to synthesize lessons and strategies used in North Carolina to develop two actionable policy briefs for investing in health-related social service interventions -- one for the incoming federal administration and the other for state health and human services leadership. First, the team will develop a federal-level policy brief that outlines the initiatives and lessons learned in North Carolina, link that experience to larger national trends to make the case for its broader relevance, and outline examples of specific reforms to realize at the federal level. The team will then use findings from the federal brief to develop a second brief for state leadership that includes key components of an “investing in health” agenda within the state.
