The 20th annual International Symposium on Health Care Policy, to be held in November 2017 in Washington, D.C., will examine what a high-performing health care system might look like in the year 2030. Robin Osborn and her staff will collect evidence from around the world to illustrate the policies, frontline delivery system models, and payment mechanisms that deliver the best outcomes and value. The meeting will focus on medical breakthroughs, new technologies, and “big data,” along with other powerful factors like climate change and widespread immigration, and their potential to redefine the health care system of tomorrow. Videos of patients’ experiences in various health systems will enrich the discussion.
The more than 80 participants will include health ministers, senior government officials, and experts from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the U.K., and the U.S., as well as opinion leaders from other industries, Silicon Valley health entrepreneurs, and journalists.
