The SSRS team will work with Fund staff to conduct the 2023 International Health Policy Survey, which will include nationally representative samples of adults in each nation. Approximately 6,750 adults will be surveyed in the countries supported by the Fund (3,500 in the U.S., 1,000 in Canada, and 750 each in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom). Anticipated cofunding from partner organizations will enable the inclusion of the other countries as well as expanded samples in Canada and the U.K. Survey questions will focus on patients’ views of COVID, care quality, out-of-pocket costs, and administrative burdens, like paperwork requirements. In line with the Fund’s 2023 goals, new topics will focus on mental health and health equity. Oversampling in the U.S. will ensure adequate representation for analyzing the experiences of people of color, people with low income, and women of reproductive age.
