This project will leverage existing Council of State Governments (CSG) Center of Innovation work addressing state health policy to develop a Mental Health State Resource Guide, provide technical assistance to policymakers in the implementation of this guide, and conduct a series of virtual convenings. CSG will reach out to member states to determine which eight states have the greatest needs, interest, and capacity for utilizing results of the work. These eight states will have geographic and demographic diversity, and political party parity, to account for the variance in the structure of mental systems across states. Specific focus areas for the resource guide are likely to include supporting state leaders to address social isolation, improve maternal mental health, improve social determinants of health, and ensure mental health insurance parity.
