The African American Research Collaborative's American COVID-19 Vaccine Poll will survey 10,000 Americans (of whom 2,250 will be white, 2,250 Black, 2,250 Latino, 2,250 Asian American/Pacific Islander, and 1,000 American Indian) to identify pathways for broader vaccine uptake. It will identify barriers to uptake as well as messages and messengers that improve intention to get a COVID-19 vaccine. To maximize the potential for this research to inform public policy, the poll’s findings will be shared broadly through the project partners’ strong connections to the administration, coalitions of state and local elected officials, medical professionals, and civil rights organizations. The project team also is assembling a group of community engagement partners who can use lessons from this research to change messaging and outreach.
