The project functions primarily by facilitating strategic conversations among state and federal officials and policymakers, researchers, stakeholders, and funders, with a focus on the “state of play” in health reform activities at both the state and federal levels. Building on its policy and analytical work in 2021 to support policymakers’ legislative activities, the Federal-State Information Project (FSIP) plans to shift its focus in 2022 to the implementation and communication of enacted policies. FSIP’s policy priority areas for 2022, which align with anticipated policy windows and stakeholder interest, include but are not limited to: promoting coverage expansion, strengthening mental health coverage and care, improving long-term supports and services, and modernizing public health systems.
