The Council of State Governments (CSG) will establish a Long-Term Care Task Force comprising legislative and executive branch policymakers from a geographically, demographically, and politically diverse cohort of eight states (two from each CSG region). The Task Force will conduct a detailed examination of policy options to: 1) optimize ARPA and potential BBBA resources for long-term services and supports (LTSS) and home and community-based services (HCBS); 2) promote economic recovery by revitalizing the direct care workforce; and 3) address state regulations of LTSS, including nursing home facilities and HCBS programs. Drawing on research, expert presentations, and Task Force discussions, CSG will create publicly available resources and tools for state policymakers, including a long-term care policy guide.
