Working collaboratively with the Commonwealth Fund, a team led by Gerard Anderson at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) will use the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) to develop performance measures and contribute associated data elements to a new Fund report (scorecard, chartbook, or similar data products) describing health system performance for high need, high cost (HNHC) patients. This effort will build on a previous Fund small grant under which JHU used MEPS to define and describe the characteristics of the HNHC patient population. Dr. Anderson will also serve as an expert advisor in designing and developing this first report product to focus on health system performance for this population.
