For this project, LTQA will complete and publish two case studies of “exemplar” programs that integrate LTSS and medical coverage and services. In each case study, the research team will look for factors in the design and operation of these programs that contribute value to health plans and providers that hold financial risk and will identify sources and limits of outcome data. The team aims to describe the care models in each case to develop a standard framework and taxonomy for characterizing, analyzing, and comparing LTSS integration amongst programs. This framework will specify the key components of LTSS integration and describe the varying degrees of integration for each factor. Ultimately, LTQA aims to produce 11 case studies of this sort, using this taxonomy produced by these initial cases.
