The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) will build on their previous work to educate state policymakers on policy options and successes to improve access, quality, and efficiency in health care, as well as implications for states related to the evolving federal landscape. This grant will sponsor sessions at the 2019 NCSL August Legislative Summit and at the 2019 NCSL Capitol Forum. NCSL will also host a 1.5-day seminar for a targeted group of legislators focused on health issues. Fund support will also help NCSL maintain its legislative tracking database, respond to inquiries from state legislators, and disseminate publications, including a series of blog posts and a legislative brief. NCSL will help the Fund stay up to date on priorities and information needs in state legislatures while also ensuring the Fund’s work is reaching policymakers in harder-to-reach states and regions.
