Since 1999, the annual transatlantic forum on health care quality cosponsored by The Commonwealth Fund and The Nuffield Trust has provided a unique opportunity to build relationships among senior policymakers and health care system leaders in the United States and United Kingdom, compare innovations in health care delivery, and facilitate an exchange of ideas on improving care for chronically ill patients. Building on this valuable collaboration, the 15th U.S.–U.K. meeting, to be held July 2015 at Pennyhill Park, England, will compare policy approaches and delivery system models geared toward improving care for high-need, high-cost patients. Particular attention will be paid to how each country is addressing issues of patient engagement, health information technology, and workforce capacity. The Nuffield Trust will provide cofunding.
