The PBS NewsHour will produce a one-hour primetime special -- Critical Care: America vs the World -- exploring stories in Texas, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, and Canada. Through these stories, the special will analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each country’s health system, as experienced by both patients and providers. Special care will be taken to incorporate perspectives from citizens across the spectrum of income, race, and minority status. Dr. Ashish Jha, Dean at the Brown University School of Public Health, and Tsung-Mei Cheng, health policy research analyst at Princeton University School of Public and International Affairs, will provide commentary and perspective on the valuable lessons from these health systems.
