This project will bring together the Fund’s international survey co-funding partners for a two-day meeting to develop a 10-year strategic plan. Key issues to be addressed include: 1) how can we ensure that the survey reflects policymakers’ priorities, new health care delivery system and payment models, patient-reported outcomes, and increasing focus on chronic illness, care coordination, social services, and health information technology; 2) whether the current 3-year rotating series (general population, older adults, and primary care doctors) is right for the future; 4) how can countries leverage the survey to have greater impact on policy and practice; 5) what are best practices in presenting the survey data, including web-based and multi-media; and, 6) given the expanding work of OECD and WHO in collecting measures of health care system performance, patient experiences, and patient-reported outcomes, how can we ensure the Commonwealth Fund international survey continues to add value for policymakers in partner countries?
