On July 15, 2013, The Progressive States Network and The Commonwealth Fund cosponsored the fourth and final in a series of webinars designed for state legislators and legislative staff on health care challenges and opportunities. The webinar focused on payment and delivery system reform and the role of state legislators. Rachel Nuzum, M.P.H., vice president of The Commonwealth Fund’s program on Federal and State Health Policy, gave an overview of policy levers available to states as a result of the Affordable Care Act and provided some examples of current work underway at the state level. Kathleen Nolan of the National Association of Medicaid Directors detailed how Medicaid can be a leader in payment and delivery system reform and state representative Verla Insko of North Carolina highlighted the innovative "Community Care of North Carolina" program.
