The National Leadership Summit on Eliminating Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health convenes leaders from all levels of government, media, academia, public health, mental health, minority-serving institutions, and minority communities to develop strategies and maximize opportunities to improve minority health and close the health gap. This year's meeting, held January 9–11, 2006 in Washington, DC, focused on patient–provider communication, the personalization of health care, and strengthening health disparities leadership, among many other topics.
