A growing number of Americans experience workplace discrimination as they try to balance their job with the responsibilities of caring for an older adult, according to a new fact sheet and report from AARP. The new resources, produced with support from The Commonwealth Fund and the SCAN Foundation, lay out possible legislative and policy approaches to extend legal protections against workplace discrimination to family caregivers. Both publications draw on the findings of Raising Expectations: A State Scorecard on Long-Term Services and Supports for Older Adults, People with Physical Disabilities, and Family Caregivers.
