For the first time, the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies has published an in-depth look at the U.S. health system in its Health Systems in Transition series. Co-edited by Ewout van Ginneken, Ph.D., a 2011–12 Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice, the report assesses the U.S. system according to health status, equity, quality, efficiency, and accountability and evaluates the potential of reforms under way.
