Uninsured Rates Dropped in Early 2014 as Affordable Coverage Options Expanded

The number of uninsured Americans fell in early 2014, according to the first federal survey estimates provided since the health care law’s major insurance expansions went into effect. In a new blog post, The Commonwealth Fund’s Sara Collins explains that while these early surveys provide only a limited picture of the law’s effects on coverage this year, they echo similar findings from several recent private surveys conducted by The Commonwealth Fund, Gallup, RAND, and the Urban Institute.
