A new brief from researchers at the Center for Health Care Strategies, supported by The Commonwealth Fund and The SCAN Foundation, will be published on www.chcs.org/ on January 9. The brief the summarizes efforts to develop quality-of-care measures for individuals enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid—the "dual eligibles." The brief provides guidance to states in developing measurement approaches for programs seeking to integrate care for dual eligibles, including assessment of quality in domains such as long-term services and behavioral health care. It also describes how performance measures can be shaped by stakeholder input.
