Starting in the fall of 2012, patients and policymakers in France will be able to access information about the care hospitals provide. Through a close collaboration between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and hospital representatives, 68 indicators to describe hospital care were defined. These indicators provide information on five areas: quality of care, professional practices, organization of care, human resources, and finance.
