Commonwealth Fund president David Blumenthal, M.D., will be a featured speaker at a March 26 briefing hosted by Catalyst for Payment Reform, a health care purchaser–led group seeking to improve how health care is paid for in the U.S. Speakers will discuss findings from the group's National Scorecard on Payment Reform and National Compendium on Payment Reform, which gauge the percentage of health care payments in the U.S. that are based on value and catalogue the payment reform programs under way across the country. Blumenthal will be joined by Mark Smith, M.D., president of the California HealthCare Foundation, Anna Fallieras, program leader for health initiatives at GE, Bob Galvin, M.D., CEO of Equity Healthcare LLC, Rick Gilfillan, M.D., director of the CMS Innovation Center, and representatives from major national health plans.
