Shorter Waiting Times for Hospital Treatment in Norway

The Norwegian Health Department has released new data that show the average wait time to receive a diagnosis or start treatment at Norwegian hospitals is decreasing. The average wait time to start treatment was 60 days during the first four months of 2017. This represents a decrease of four days relative to the same time last year, and a 13 percent reduction over the past four years. Health Minister Bent Høie, who recently secured his continuing tenure following the Norwegian general election, aims to reduce the average wait time to 50 days.
