The Commonwealth Fund is greatly saddened by Uwe Reinhardt’s passing. He was a friend and colleague to many of us personally, and an inspiration to us professionally. Dr. Reinhardt was a thought partner, a grantee, and a generous participant in many of the Commonwealth Fund’s activities, including our International Symposium, where his absence this month was deeply felt. We applaud his many contributions to the health of Americans and of people around the world, and we extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, May, and to their children.
