Cross-Government Approach to Tackle Mental Health in New Zealand

New Zealand’s Social Investment Minister Amy Adams and Health Minister Jonathan Coleman announced a NZ$100 million investment that will boost mental health services. The package will fund 17 new initiatives over four years that focus on prevention, early intervention, overcoming trauma, and building resilience, particularly among children and youths. In addition, the funds will expand access to telehealth services that enable earlier detection of mental health problems, as well as boost workforce training.
