New French Minister for Health Agnes Buzyn has announced that preventive care is a new priority for the government. Preventive care spending in France is currently among the lowest in Europe, but Buzyn said preventive care spending should rise to nearly 6 percent of total health expenditures, or about €15 billion, from 2 percent of total health expenditures in 2014. Such care will be delivered through dedicated programs in health facilities and encouraged through pay-for-performance program for general practitioners.
