Should patients be allowed to contribute to their doctors’ medical notes? Commonwealth Fund–supported researchers led by John N. Mafi, M.D., of the University of California, Los Angeles, asked clinicians and other health care experts about the idea for their recent study (Annals of Internal Medicine, published online Nov. 14, 2017). There was broad consensus that patients would likely benefit, given the right conditions.
