In the Journal of the American Medical Association (Mar. 28, 2017), Diana Mason of the City University of New York and George Washington University describes a new Charter on Professionalism for Health Care Organizations, created by a workgroup of physicians, nurses, administrators, and patients with the support of The Commonwealth Fund and other funders. The charter focuses on four areas: partnerships with patients, organizational culture, partnerships with communities to address the social determinants of health, and business operations and practices.
