A new post from the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) focuses on a key challenge for state Medicaid agencies that are developing accountable care organizations (ACOs): how to align their work to promote accountability across Medicaid providers with the long-term services and supports (LTSS) delivery system. Drawing on the experiences of states participating in The Commonwealth Fund's Medicaid ACO Learning Collaborative, this post offers lessons from Massachusetts, Maryland, and other states that are beginning to explore ACO models that support LTSS integration.
