A new online tool, Fingertips, will enable family doctors to compare the amount of antibiotics their practice prescribes with amounts prescribed by other practices across England. Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt hopes the “new weapon,” which will be managed by Public Health England, will help GPs cut the numbers of unnecessarily prescribed antibiotics.
