National Strategy on Chronic Diseases

A multiyear national strategy has been approved by the federal government and cantons to prevent noncommunicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory diseases, and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. It includes three key elements: better coordination of activities, implementation of preventive measures in primary care, and strengthening of health management at the workplace.
