Australian Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Cameron Dick announced in March that the country’s digital hospital project was under way, starting with Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane’s transition to electronic health records. The digital hospital project is expected to transform health care delivery throughout the state of Queensland by improving the safety and quality of care, improving data analysis, and reducing inefficiency and waste. The rollout of the digital hospital system is part of the Australian government’s $1.5 billion e-health strategy, announced last year.
