Cell phones and other consumer digital technologies are emerging as powerful tools for engaging patients, particularly minority and low-income patients, in their health care. In a new Commonwealth Fund brief, Andrew Broderick of the Public Health Institute and Farshid Haque of Ellipsis Health present findings from a survey of 200 leaders at community health centers to assess how these safety-net providers are using cell phones to support patient engagement.
