Reducing Mortality Rates for Heart Attack Patients

More than 800,000 people in the United States are hospitalized each year with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), or heart attack. But there are marked differences in survival rates across the country. A Commonwealth Fund–supported study by Yale University’s Elizabeth Bradley and colleagues looks at strategies hospitals are using to reduce AMI deaths.
